The 212 Environmental Database Management System (212 EDMS)
The 212 Environmental Data Management System (212 EDMS) was designed by and built for environmental professionals. As such, our system has been streamlined to remove unnecessary obstacles present in many other data management systems that inhibit the direct use of data by the geologist, engineer, statistician, chemist, risk assessor, modeler, operator, or manager. Specifically, we have removed the clunky web-interface and unnecessary “features” developed by programmers that simply slow down the applications and make the user experience complicated and frustrating. This allows our customers to quickly import data into their dedicated database and begin using our applications without downtime for training users or implementation for IT professionals.

Our system has been used by consultants, laboratories, municipalities, lawyers, and others to store, analyze, review, validate, and report all types of data at their facilities and sites. This includes initial investigation, site characterization, safety, system operational, routine, and non-routine monitoring, maintenance, and many other types of data. We have created applications for recording field notes and photos, as well as workflows for maintaining systems, equipment, or vehicles. We have electronic field forms and applications that completely eliminate the need for paper field forms and reports.

Database Architecture
The 212 EDMS securely stores all your data in a cloud-based SQL database that is housed within Microsoft Azure Cloud Servers. The 212 EDMS helps make sense of mountains of information through powerful queries that allow for assimilation and analysis of data from multiple sources. We offer several standard, as well as customizable, reporting tools that produce submission ready reports at the push of a button, in addition to Excel-ready files for incorporation into any modeling, visualization, statistical analysis, or similar program. This avoids the time, effort, and errors of transcribing data.

The best part about the 212 EDMS is that it is scalable and customized to each customer. You only need to pay for those applications that you need. This is not the typical web-based, one-size fits all system. Our solution is affordable for everyone, whether a consultancy with one employee or a multinational company with tens of thousands of users worldwide.
212 EDMS Features
Intuitive Design
Designed by environmental professionals to ensure ease of use both in the field and in the office, with little downtime for training.
Field Forms
Paperless, intuitive Excel-based forms for conducting field events, eliminating the need for internet connectivity. Choose from our standard forms or have us customize field forms based on your project needs.
Automatic Verification
Automated data verification and auditing built into applications to avoid importing corrupted data and maintain data integrity.
Sampling Triggers
Logic-based triggers to guide collection of representative samples during all sampling events, including low-flow groundwater or soil vapor sampling. Triggers can be customized for your site-specific sampling plan.
Data Validation
Interface for importing, managing, and adding data validation flags during laboratory data validation. Flags are automatically added to report-ready tables.
Field Notes
Field notes application for combining photographs and daily field notes into pre-formatted reports.
Automated Calculations
Customizable embedded calculations for estimating site-specific parameters such as flow rates, air emissions, and mass recovery rates to streamline site monitoring and compliance reporting.
Data Export
Customizable export data in any format you need. Directly import data into any drawing, modeling, statistical analysis, risk assessment, or any other third-party software without the need for reformatting.
Maintenance Calendars
Automated scheduling, alerts, and notifications for maintenance and monitoring for any piece of equipment – field tools, fleet vehicles, laboratory equipment, or even a full-scale treatment plant.
Report-Ready Tables
Customizable, report-ready tables designed to provide you data without the need for reformatting. Choose from our standard tables or have us customize tables based on your project needs, such as statistical information or comparison to screening criteria such as USEPA Maximum Contaminant Levels or Regional Screening Levels.
Support & Customization
Reduces the need for dedicated programmers on your staff with customization of the database and existing applications provided by 212 Environmental. In addition, new applications can be developed and added to the system affordably and seamlessly by 212 Environmental database experts and programmers.
